Awareness

Izati's confession:

UIA teaches me how exactly to apply Islamic knowledge on everything that I do or want to do in life. Through years in UIA, I am able to understand about the concept of comprehensiveness in Islam. I also learnt that it is not only by performing obligatory duties such as performing prayers and fasting that make us closer to Allah but there are actually many things that we can do to make us closer to Allah and also the importance of feeding our spiritual soul with religious activities. Furthermore,UIA also makes me realise how to educate and preaching about Islam to non -Muslim.I learnt about how to organise interfaith dialogue between religions and the importance of respecting other religions. I also found out about the necessity of preserving the relationship between man and woman also how to actually conduct the discourse between opposite gender.Lastly I am so grateful that I have the opportunity to come and study here as it teaches me a lot thus UIA really suits with their motto which is the garden of knowledge and virtues as I not only acquire tons of beneficial knowledge but also good virtues in here.

Fairus's confession:

• Islamization of knowledge practiced in the university has opened up the opportunity for the students to learn more about Islam through the contents of the Qur’an and the Hadith.
• Before, in school, we only learn moral values of the subject matters taught in the class without looking at how Islam views that matters.
• So here, when we look at the Islamic perspective on anything that we learn, we actually have the chance to reflect back to the teachings of Islam.
• From that, we are able to know and understand more about the contents of the Qur’an and the Hadith. 

Sharifah's confession:

• IIUM teaches me to be more patient in many things (a bad pre-registration system, poor administration, little parking space, poor condition of toilets, etc.)
• IIUM exposes me to many intellectual and critical issues and discussions in various fields (politics, religions, economy, sociology, etc.)
• IIUM makes me feel proud of wearing abaya on any day and on any occasion.

Arnis's confession:

• Appreciate others more. 
• Learn how to be empathy. 
• Fully understand the concept of Islamic theory. 
• Learn new things related to Islam. E.g: listening to Arabic debate, many Islamic talks.
